Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Nexus Dental Laboratory, Ripon, England
Financial year ending: 2026
1. Who We Are
Nexus Dental Laboratory operates from Ripon (and Harrogate) and supports dental professionals across the UK with a wide range of laboratory and digital services.
Nexus works with established dental manufacturers that operate internationally, producing materials and equipment in regions such as Europe and the United States. We maintain close relationships with these partners, and members of our senior team have visited several of their manufacturing centres to gain direct insight into their processes, working conditions and quality controls.
These visits strengthen our understanding of how our products are made and support transparent, responsible sourcing across every stage of our work.
2. Our Position on Modern Slavery
Nexus does not use, condone or permit forced labour, compulsory labour, slavery, servitude or human trafficking in any part of its operations. This includes any form of exploitation, coercion, deception or the use of labour from children or vulnerable individuals.
We expect these same standards from every organisation that supplies goods or services to us.
3. HR Policies
Our internal HR procedures ensure that all employment within Nexus is lawful, freely chosen and compliant with UK legislation.
These procedures include identity verification and right-to-work checks for every employee, ensuring that all staff can legally work in the United Kingdom.
We keep our internal policies under review so they remain consistent with current legislation, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
4. Policies Supporting Our Approach
We maintain a range of policies that reinforce our commitment to responsible and ethical practice. These include:
These policies form the foundation of our approach to preventing modern slavery within our organisation and supply chain.
5. Supply Chain Oversight
Our suppliers operate internationally, and we understand that risks can vary between regions. We assess suppliers based on risk level, regulatory environment and their adherence to recognised standards.
We work with manufacturers that demonstrate strong governance and transparent labour practices.
If a supplier fails to meet expectations or address concerns, we review the relationship and consider alternative sourcing options.
6. Training and Awareness
Our team receives guidance to help them recognise signs linked to modern slavery and understand the steps to take if a concern arises. This supports vigilance across ordering processes, supplier communication and internal operations.
7. Monitoring and Review
We review our policies and approach each year to ensure continued alignment with the Modern Slavery Act and wider expectations.
This includes tracking any changes in supply chain risk, assessing supplier performance and identifying opportunities to strengthen our controls.
8. Approval
This statement has been reviewed and approved by Nexus Dental Laboratory's senior leadership and will be updated annually.
